Thermal Covers

A safe cold chain under your control

Sudden temperature spikes, standing time on a sunny airport apron and transhipment without temperature control are the biggest risks for sensitive loads. KAHAPE thermal covers, also known as insulated pallet covers, act as a reliable shield: they effectively reduce heat exchange (by radiation and convection) and keep conditions stable for your product. As a Custom Packaging solution, they fit your pallets and logistics procedures to the centimetre.

Insulation technology: how we make it

Our thermal covers are made from high-tech materials that combine low weight with maximum barrier performance.

Material structure

Two- or three-layer LDPE bubble film laminated with an aluminium layer. The aluminium reflects thermal radiation, and the bubble structure creates an insulating air cushion. On request, we can make the covers from a composite laminate with a double layer of bubble film (double bubble technology).

Recommended thickness

100 to 200 microns (µm). For maximum thermal protection, we recommend 200 µm or a double bubble composite up to 370 µm thick.

Bubble size

Bubbles 10 mm or 30 mm in diameter, so we can match the insulation precisely to the goods being protected.

Any dimensions

The length, width and height of the thermal cover are fully customisable to suit a specific load carrier (Euro pallets, air cargo containers, roll containers).

KAHAPE Eco Standard

100% European raw materials, recyclable, PPWR compliant.

Thermal cover variants

Two carrier formats and two insulation classes. We choose the combination together with you, based on the route, transit time and permitted temperature window.

Carrier format

Thermal pallet covers

Full coverage for Euro or non-standard pallets: the standard solution for the cold chain.

Carrier format

Thermal covers for air cargo

Made to fit air cargo containers and roll containers, designed for transhipment and standing time.

Insulation class

10 mm bubbles

A dense grid of smaller cells: shorter routes and lighter loads.

Insulation class

30 mm bubbles

A thicker air cushion: long journeys and large temperature differences.

Which industries?

KAHAPE solutions are a foundation of safety for industries that require strict temperature control.

Food and catering

Fresh meat, fruit, vegetables, dairy and meal deliveries to restaurant chains: an unbroken cold chain throughout the logistics process.

Pharma and cosmetics

Medicines, vaccines and cosmetic raw materials sensitive to overheating or freezing.

Chemicals

Reagents and diagnostic samples that need a stable temperature.

Logistics

Transhipment, stops and long-haul transport with no temperature control.

Why choose KAHAPE thermal covers?

An unbroken cold chain
We significantly reduce the load’s sensitivity to temperature changes during transhipment and standing time (known as ‘breaks’ in the cold chain). The aluminium reflects up to 95% of thermal radiation.
Speed and ergonomics
Unlike heavy refrigerated containers, our thermal covers are light and very quick to fit, which saves warehouse staff time.
Economical and sustainable (reusable)
The durable aluminium laminate allows the thermal covers to be reused many times in a closed logistics loop. This significantly lowers the total cost of ownership (TCO) over the packaging’s life cycle and reduces the carbon footprint.
Quality from Europe
Like all our films, the insulating materials are based on raw materials of European origin. Consistent parameters, full supplier control, compliance with EU standards.

Thermal covers: frequently asked questions

When are professional thermal covers worth it?

When the product is sensitive to temperature fluctuations and transport requires stable conditions. This is particularly important in the logistics of food, pharmaceuticals, speciality chemicals and flowers, especially during transhipment, standing time in the sun or storage in uncontrolled conditions.

Yes. Thanks to a laminate with pure aluminium, the cover reflects up to 95% of thermal radiation, while the bubble film structure limits heat conduction. A correctly selected thermal cover keeps the goods within the required temperature range for longer, making transport safer.

Yes. For more demanding projects, we prepare prototypes tailored to specific logistics needs. This lets you test in the real supply chain and choose the optimal packaging parameters.

No. Because they are made on the Custom Packaging principle, the thermal covers fit the transport unit precisely and are light and easy to use. They let you protect products quickly, streamline warehouse work and are a practical alternative to heavy insulated containers.
